Today’s Try On

Hey friends,

The malls are crazy this time of year, but I went anyway.

The next few pics are skirts from free people.

Which skirt do you prefer?

The next couple of pics are from JCrew.

Velvet on velvet

What do you think of velvet leggings?

And another jumpsuit. What do you think of the wide legs? I personally prefer the jumpsuit from my last post.

Let me know your thoughts about the clothes. Would you buy any? What’s your style like?

Today’s Try On

Hi friends,

I’ll be sharing my outfits and clothes I try on in the fitting room. This segment will be called “Try On.” I’ll post the ones I like or the pics that turn out well. (Bear with me as I have a potato phone).

This is a maroon jumpsuit from Banana Republic. It’s a velour kind of feel and oh so comfy. I can’t wait to wear this for the holidays! Oh and it has pockets!

Review: Lo & Sons OMG Bag

Hey. I’m Lynn. I’ll be reviewing…the Lo & Sons OMG Bag if you didn’t catch the title already. Get ready for my own pictures of the bag and my thoughts about the style, texture, and features of the bag. I am not reviewing the wear on the bag. My rolling suitcase is a standard carry on size. It is Away luggage (I will be doing a review later on).

Before we get started, let me tell you about what I’m looking for. I am seeking a fashionable laptop carry on bag that has that “trolley sleeve.” A trolley sleeve is basically extra fabric sewn so you can easily slip the bag over a rolling suitcase.

This sleeve easily slips over the handles. It zips on the top and bottom in case you want to tighten it onto the handles. It is sturdy enough that you don’t have to tighten it though. You can also keep the bottom zipper closed if you want to use the back as an actual pocket and not use it with your suitcase.

I’ll be showing a lot of pictures first with comments below the pictures. Then I’ll summarize at the end. This is my first post and my first bag review, so bear with me. I’m experimenting with the best format. If you want to just look at the pics and scroll to the summary below, that’s fine by me.

Let’s start with general size of the OMG Bag. (Directly from the website).

Base width: 16″

Depth: 6″

Height: 13.5″

Handle Drop length: 9″

Weight: 2.1 lbs.

Laptop pocket size: 13 inch

The bag I bought is made of a “water-resistant” nylon exterior, soft poly jacquard hummingbird interior, and leather trim.

I’m 5’2″ for scale. This bag looks like it’s about to eat me. It’s so much larger than anticipated.

Very cute fabric inside. I like that it’s light colored so I can actually see what’s inside. This is the front pocket. It’s got a few small pockets and pockets for pens.

It has this nice key leash in the front pocket.

On the side, it has this zipper where you can put shoes or an umbrella in.

This extra purple fabric I am holding is the compartment where the shoes/umbrella go in. If you do not need it, you can roll the extra fabric off to the side. (please excuse my bare feet).

This is the main compartment. The laptop part is the bottom of the picture. It is nicely padded. The metal/leather clasp is very difficult to open.

The other side of the main compartment. It has one giant zipper pocket and a few other padded pockets.
It comes with an across the shoulder strap. It is very bulky when worn that way.

If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! Here is the summary with the good, the bad, and the result (what I’ve decided to do with this bag. )

The Good

  • Very nice material and well made. It seems very sturdy.
  • I like how the inside fabric is light so I can see inside and not lose something.
  • The padding seems sufficient for electronics.
  • The laptop compartment is not too big and not too small. My chromebook fits perfectly.
  • The design is very trendy and sleek.
  • I love the trolley sleeve. It does not seem like it will roll about while on my rolling suitcase.
  • The zippers are very nice and strong. The metal touches are classy.

The Bad

  • The clasp for the laptop is very difficult to open and close. It is nice to have that
  • The size of the bag is very large and it almost feels like it overpowers me.
  • For the large size of the bag, the opening of the main compartment is rather smaller than I would have liked. It is rounded so it can only open so far. I like wider openings so I can actually see everything.
  • Due to the tall and rounded nature of the bag, I do not feel the bag would be able to stand fully upright under an airplane seat. I’ve seen this bag either in the upper compartment of planes or smashed under the seat. It would be able to lay down under an airplane seat. If I am buying a nice travel carry on, I would like it to be able to stand how it it’s suppose to and not dirty one of the sides because it would not fit the normal way. Personal preference.
  • Although the “shoe” compartment is a nice add on, it is kind of odd to have that extra fabric when not in use (even if it is rolled up toward the side). I wonder what it would be like if it were removable.
  • The over the shoulder strap does not have extra padding/support so I imagine it’s not the comfiest when packing the bag full.
  • No water bottle holder. (not a deal breaker, but it is a plus in some of the bags I’ve seen).

The Result

  • Returned
    • Why? The smaller opening of the main compartment and difficulty to clasp the laptop compartment.
    • Lo & Sons has free shipping and free returns which I love about any company.
    • I did email them about how long it would take and they never responded to my email. However, my return was processed and refunded within a week.
    • Though I did return this bag, I would consider buying from this company again.

Although I returned the item, this bag could be perfect for you. It is very nicely made from first appearance. They are currently having a sale and 60 day extended returns. What I have said above is purely my own personal preferences. Maybe it can help you in deciding.

I’m going to review a few more travel bags as well. Stay tuned.

What travel bag do you have or which are deciding on? Let me know in the comments.
